Each year OANSW provides support to promising NSW juniors through additional training opportunities.  The squad generally has two school holidays camps each year as well as a pre Christmas training weekend.  At the camps, the juniors traditionally have an opportunity to train with NSW elites.  High level coaching is provided at all camps.

The training opportunities granted by the squad provide an excellent platform for juniors to develop their skills.  Juniors will normally develop their orienteering in the squad prior to pressing for selection in the NSW Schools Team and progression into elite level orienteering.

To be considered for selection in the squad, juniors must be aged at least 12 and be attending high school.  Selection is based upon performances in State League events that must be a minimum Orange standard of difficulty.

Managers and selectors for the squad in 2010

are Karen and Russell Blatchford.
